When did you start brewing?
I would guess it’s been about 5 years
What was your first brew? Why?
An apricot pale ale. I was trying to clone Majic Hat #9 which was one of my favorite beers at the time.
Were you into craft before you started brewing?
Yes
How many brews have you done?
20 or so
Do you have a favorite type of beer (style, brand,whatever) to drink?
IPAs and porters and stouts and pale ale and…………
Do you have a favorite type to brew (style, kit, all grain)?
Flavored Porter’s…..I have been brewing partials mostly, but have gone to all grain since joining the club.
Bottles or keg system? Why?
Keg, honestly, too lazy to bottle
Do you employ fermentation control?
Not really
Any tips/tricks you have picked up so far that you think we should not overlook?
Sanitation, sanitation
You have an awesome accent Jeff, tell us more about your background?
I grew up just south of Boston. There was a lot of Irish and Italian influence in the area.
What brought you to Grand Junction?
There were several reasons, but mostly just the opportunity to see more of this country.
You do a fair amount of traveling, anything you like to do on your travels?
Meet people, eat, drink, hang with the locals. I was able to drink a Guinness at the Guinness brewery while looking over Dublin Bay. That was cool.
What kind of hat do you like to wear when you brew and why?
I guess you could say scientist.
Do you have a DIY attitude in general? What other things do you DIY?
You name it, between Google, You Tube, and staying at a Holiday Inn Express I can do anything.

Ales
What about that style do you prefer over the other? English or German beer? Other?
Yes, yes and yes
Besides brewing what else do you enjoy doing?
Playing pool, riding my motorcycle, listening to music
You have done a lot of traveling, has this influenced the beer styles you like?
No, I am pretty open to all styles.
What is one beer you have found that you want the rest of us to know about?
Well I’m drinking a Double Bastard right now and it is pretty damn good.
Do you have any sophist words of wisdom for the rest of us?
You are not “stuck” anywhere, you are not a tree. Not my words but love the saying
